North Korean athletes?

According to my mom, who grew up in South Korea, they're probably gonna shoot that North Korean gymnast and all the athletes who lost (which is pretty much all that they sent over to China). Sounds pretty outrageous to me but she grew up in South Korea and knows lots more about North Korea than me. I know they're all like PSYCHOS over there, but what do you think? She was dead serious. She told me "You know, I have this feeling that North Korea's going to kill her if she doesn't win."

Who knows what they are going to do. Probably nothing.

Your mom is from South Korea, not North Korea. So she does not have any personal experience. South and North Korea govenments are enemies. What she learned about North Korea is probably just propaganda.

Haha I was joking about something similar to that. The Chinese athletes who took gold will be freed, the silver winners will go through rigorous training, and the bronze winners will never be seen again.

They take their sport seriously but not that seriously.

Winners will be treated like superstars and the others will try again another time.

No-one will get killed.

They might have their funding stopped but that's about it.
