North Pocono volleyball team defeats Wyoming Valley West by 3-0 – Volleyball news
North Pocono volleyball team did not fail to impress their fans yet again as they were able to pull off another thrilling win while playing against Wyoming Valley West.
The victory that the Trojans secured for themselves did not leave any doubt of their superiority as one of the best teams. The Trojans handed out a loss to Wyoming Valley by winning three sets back to back.
Not only were the Trojans successful in making a clean sweep over their opponents, they did so by winning all three sets in a decisive fashion.
By the time the match had reached its end, the scoreboard told the match summary by displaying the following final set scores, 25-20, 25-20 and 25-9.
The start of the first set of the match saw fierce competition from both the teams. Neither the Trojans nor Wyoming Valley wanted to give the lead to the other side. Therefore, the initial few points of the set went this way and that.
However, Wyoming Valley was able to take the lead for themselves at 14-13. Despite the fact the Wyoming Valley secured themselves a lead, they were unable to keep it with them. The Trojans did not let Wyoming Valley extend the advantage that they. The Trojans
put on a spurt of speed which led them all the way towards the end of the first set of the game at 25-20.
The second set of the match started differently than the opening one. Having lost the first game after taking the lead early on got Wyoming Valley a little low on the confidence side. The Trojans took advantage of the slight decrease in the performance of
Wyoming Valley and hammered down relentless kills upon their opponents.
The Trojans were able to take the lead early on at 7-2. However, Wyoming Valley did not give up and were able to push up their side of the scoreboard to tie the match at 13-13. By the time the match had reached its middle, the Trojans were up again and holding
strong. As a result, the Trojans were also able to bag the second set of the game at 25-20 as well.
Having won the first two sets of the game, the Trojans were unstoppable in the third. Wyoming Valley was unable to step up their game and give the Trojans some real challenge. Consequently, the Trojans did not have a hard time in sealing the deal on Wyoming
Valley by winning the final set at 25-9.
“Volleyball is a momentum sport,” said Tim Cummings after the match had ended, a Trojan who had eight kills. “Whoever can build it fastest has a shot at winning. Once we got it, it carried us through the next two games.”
