Do we consume all of the North Sea oil in the UK, or do we export some?

  1. I always understood the oil was of a very high quality, so was not used to convert to petrol etc. and mostly sold on.


  2. In the typically British way, we normally sell oil to Europe in the summer at a cheap price, then buy it back from them in the winter when our fuel demands increase at a much higher price!!

    Only the British would see logic in that.

  3. wasted most of the oil revenue paying out benefits for three decades! the Norwegians & Danes have got much better countries than us!

  4. We export a lot of it, but we also import a lot of middle-eastern crude, as UK refineries were not initially designed to handle  North Sea type crude.

  6. we are linked to norway and dutch sectors that in turn are linked to all the major european pipelines.

    we can export and import on demand

    it also depends on the seasons as obviously we dont use more fuel in winter

    there are oil storage wells that hold thousands of gallons of crude so again can be released on demand
