does anyone think that there's a divide, particularly with news coverage e.g that snow, while the south got a sprinkle and the north was ten-foot under but it wasn't covered?

  1. "In the North-west it rains and it rains. And yet we managed to produce the industrial revolution, trade union movement, the Communist Manifesto and even the goddam computer. Down south, where the sun never sets, you took all our money and what did you produce? Chas and f.cking Dave."

  2. North & South of England?

                     or

    North & South of Britain?

  3. d**n southern monkeys.

  4. we had ten feet of snow?

didn't see that on the news

didn't see it on the street either

how the heck did i manage to get to work?

  5. What about Glasgow last week when it came to a standstill because of the snow? was it on the TV news in the south?

  6. happens all the time. You can bet that the storm coverage that the south got yesterday will be much more storm coverage than the north will get for tonight and also the amount of money spent on repairs

  7. I live in the south but I totally agree with you.

  8. weve had zero snow here in fleetwood lancashire this winter..

  9. Yes there is a divide.  I've lived in the North and now live in the South - Southerners don't give Northerners a second thought.

  10. Yes, there always has been. The closer you get to London the more likely an event will be covered. Take these recent storms; affected the south, north got nothing (or at least Leeds saw nothing) but the reports were still saying "UK lashed by storms...etc". The fact is most national media reports come from London, and down that way a lot of people don't quite understand the concept of the UK extending north of the M4.
