  1. It depends what you are looking for, but the most popular destinations in the north of France are probably Mont St Michel, and the Normandy Landing beaches.

Both of these are are on the Normandy coastline.

  2. The whole of northern France is under 3 hours from Paris.

You have an immense choice.  I'd suggest Reims if you want history, monuments etc.  Then maybe on to Nancy.

  3. Lille is a great historical city, in its gothic-flemmish style, and there is a museum of the " French northern work and mine culture " - a historical house in the heart of the city which you can visit - reconstructed in the XVI th styl " Hospice Comtesse" -

    Otherwise, Arras is splendid -

North sea offers you : Boulogne sur Mer, fortress -really beautiful -

    Le Touquet - great place

    Calais and Dunkerque may forget

Rent a car is the best and motorways enable easy driving .

My trilogy is : Lille - Arras - Boulogne - play it - you win
