which is best part of uk to live in? prefferabley town names

It depends what you're looking for? Do you want a small quaint town/village or a big city where everything you need is just down the road? And what type of life you want to live? Each area has it's own good towns and bad towns.

Generally (stereotypically), in the north, the people there are quite 'common', whereas in the south it's a bit more 'prim'. East I would say is more connected to the north, and west to the south. However, southwest/northwest/southeast/northwest have their own little differences too in some parts.

Every part has the countryside areas, with the great estates and country homes, which tend to be highly priced and middle/higher class. And each part has the big cities, and we all know every city has it's slums and high streets.

Some towns/cities to avoid that I know of are Nottingham, Northampton, Manchester (isn't so bad, but is known for its violence and crimes). There are probably a lot more to avoid, but I cannot name them right now.

Some towns/cities which I've heard are quite nice are Chester (I used to live near there myself, it's a great place. Beautiful town, great for shopping, great schools etc), Canterbury (areas in Kent are nice) and Cardiff I've heard can be a nice place to be in.

Do a little bit of research into what you're looking for yourself.

Well I would say the South because that is where I live.  We are 25 miles from London - near enough for theatres, museums etc.  We live in a small town but 5 minutes drive takes us to the countryside.  We are 7 miles from Windsor - a nice place to roam around.  We have good train services easily available to the rest of the country.  Towns that are nice : Guildford, Windsor, Henley (I could go on and on).
