Northampton water contamination.. how can it be so localised..?

Question

I live not far from the area registered as contaminated.. how has the water not infected ours?

Be wise that drinking water should be boil before consuming it.

In cooking hot meal should'nt be a problem.

Serving cold food such as veggie should'nt  be a problem too.

Cold wet food contaminated with water as left-over may get stale.

Wise to dispose left-overs cold wet food.

Contamination may have been cause during the flood.

Water works provide clean water to specific water towers or "service reservoirs" which hold clean water in underground tanks. They in turn supply specific localities.

You can trace the pipes from works to a specific house if necessary.

If they have one infected sample then that part of the network is shut down.

You are obviously on a different network.
