http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 Northamptonshire County Club is all set to give India a run for their money in the two-day match at Wantage Road scheduled to begin from Friday 5 August, 2011.
The tour match comes after India’s heavy defeat by 319 runs in the second Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Speaking to the media the skipper of the county club http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Hall-c1040 insisted that his side will further grind the tourists by maintaining pressure on the Indians.
“We've got a strong [bowling] line-up that can really keep them down and get wickets. It's going to be good to get in there, work them over and get some wickets - to put guys under pressure. We don't want them to have it all their way,” opined the 36-year-old
Hall who played his last Test for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at Cape Town.
Hall reckoned the opportunity to play against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 will give a big boost to the young players.
Hall added that during his first tour of India, the all-rounder managed to grab the wickets of Tendulkar and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 which served as a great boost to his morale throughout the series.
“It's a good opportunity for our younger players to put their hands up, make some in-roads and play for places coming up. There will be a big crowd and it will be a great two days of cricket,” added Hall.
On Monday, India faced an embarrassing defeat by the hands of the hosts when their batting line-up was annihilated by the superior English bowling on the fourth day of the second Test. This defeat came after India had lost their first Test at Lord’s and
were aiming to avenge their terrible experience.
The Test at Trent Bridge saw a superb hat-trick by England’s pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 on the fourth day of the game as the Indian batsmen failed to cope with the short deliveries that came screaming
at them by the English pacers.
