Northamptonshire 115/6 (20/20 ov) v Somerset 116/3 (13.4/20 ov) - Somerset won by 7 wickets (with 38 balls remaining)
On Tuesday, Somerset pulled off a superb win against hosts Northamptonshire, as they beat their Friends Life T20 opponents by 7 wickets, successfully chasing a total of 116 runs for the loss of three wickets, at County Ground, Northampton.
Somerset bowlers, gave a staggering performance after their skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dawid-Malan-c1344 Thomas, chose to field first.
The bowlers made things extremely difficult for Northamptonshire batsmen, as they restricted the batting side on a tally of 115, where SP Kirby, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GH-Dockrell-c1484 and AV Suppiah shared two wickets each.
With a small total to chase down, Somerset knew they had a serious chance of winning the match, and all they needed was calm and collected batting performance from the team in order to steadfast and stay en route to victory.
The side got off to a start of 61 runs, with openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/C-Kieswetter-c1206 and RE Levi, belting the bowlers right from the word go, without any fear.
This was the best and perfect approach for them in order to deny the fielding side a chance to gain momentum in the game.
Finally, CD de Lange, struck for his side as he nabbed the wicket of RE Levi, who hit the showers after hammering an innings of 35 runs.
With Levi out of the way, it was an opportunity for the bowlers to make a comeback in the match by grabbing a few more wickets.
And with 99 on the board, they struck gold by dismissing Kieswetter, who had his stumps pulverised by de Lange, after jabbing a knock of 51 runs off 35 deliveries.
The bowler struck for the third time in the match, by getting the wicket of PD Trego, who could muster only eight runs before getting trapped in front of stumps.
However, Somerset had done the job, as the asking score was just too little for the fielding side to defend. Meanwhile, JC Buttler and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jonathan-Clare-c1729 Hildreth stayed unbeaten on 13 and 1 runs to steer their side to victory.
C Kieswetter was named as the Player of the Match.
