  1. b prepaired 4 a different way of life as london can b the cheepest place in uk 2 live.

  2. It all depends on what you're doing there and how much cash you've got cos London is very expensive. Unless you're earning good money or you're rich your overall standard of living might fall compared to the north. I lived in a really nice part of Leeds where the people were civizlied and ended up in Hackney coz I couldn't afford anywhere else which is a total dump and it was a big come down. Be prepared for a few sarky comments about your accent every now and again. Southerners aren't as friendly and down to earth as northerners, and the posher they get the worse they are, so if  you're going to work in a posh company or you're gong to a posh uni be prepared for oversensitive and stuck up people and a bit of culture shock, though not everyone's like that. Other than that it's a lively international city and it's what you make it.

  3. I just came back yesterday. What is it that you want to know,..

It's gonna be $$$ to live, ur gonna need a lfat mate. If you need a good cheap place to live for a while the Beorge Hotel is about the best with a free all u can eat breakfast,. email me back if you need particulars  fivetenmale@yahoo.com

  4. Tired of London, tired of life. It is the largest conurbation in the world and has 16 million people. The thing to grasp is that it is a continuous series of villages, and these villages do change in character as different waves of peoples come and go. The great majority of people have come from somewhere else and they have come to London to do something...so there is a very positive dynamic buzz about the place. Your barman is Ozzie, the bus conductor Polish, the driver Trinidadian, your teacher Irish, the beggar Romanian, the policeman from Liverpool and there are more nationalities than you can shake a stick at. If you're studying use the college to find you a hostel, then when you meet others like you share a room in a nice quarter than get stuck in awful Council Estates of which there are plenty all around London.

I lived in Central London (which is very fine and civilised...grand parks, Hampstead Heath) and for very little cost the pubs offered great entertainment, food and beer.

Around every corner there is something of interest. The violence takes place in restricted zones where the immigrant communities take a lot of interest in drugs. I just never saw any trouble in the areas I frequented, and there's loads of Police about after dark. OLGA

  5. like the other answer the cost of living is much higher in london, compared to the north, just be your self, even though there is a divide our northern charm, will always stand us in good stead, good luck,peAce.

  6. Not a very good idea.   It is overcrowded and dirty, no longer safe to walk down the street day or night.  It has no beauty, other than the historic buildings and museums.  But most of all it is exceedingly expensive.  Good luck to you, you are very brave.   I wish I could leave the place.
