Northumberland survive a close encounter against Norfolk: Minor Counties Championship 2011
Northumberland narrowly escaped a defeat at the hands of Norfolk in a match of the Minor Counties Championship 2011, at the Osborne Avenue, Jesmond in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Tuesday, June 14th. The hosts were chasing 355 runs for victory on the final day’s
play, but lost nine wickets. They managed to save the match though and kept one wicket in tact before the play was called off by the umpires.
Northumberland won the toss and put the visitors into bat. The pitch was good for the batsmen, but there was some assistance for the bowlers in it as well. However, Norfolk managed a decent total in their first outing, scoring 253 runs.
