Norton 360 is up for renewal?

What's the best strategy? Renewal? New software?

I've used AVG and NOD32 in recent years and have found no problems and they don't seem to slow my system. Used to used Norton- took an age to load and slowed the pc down and gives me a headache

Use nod32 exclusively at the moment.

Norton is c**p.  Go with AVG, Kaspersky, or Avast.

avira detection rate is 99.6% while norton's detection rate is poor

and avira has a free version

uninstall any security program you are using and install these free programs

ignore the pop up by selecting Later

then open your 360 Main window

Click "My account'

click Renew subscription.  This takes you to USA where it is much cheaper to renew than in Australia.  You need a mastercard or visa

Norton is a very good product. It depends on your computer habits. Can you easily afford to pay the amount of Norton 360? If so, you can stick with it.

Kaspersky Security Suite is also an excellent product. You might want to look into that.

If you only want to use free software, you could use something like AVG or Avast and also use ThreatFire.

If you choose not use an all-in-one suite (360, Live OneCare, McAfee, Panda, BitDefender suites etc) in the future you'll also need some cleaning tools such as CCleaner and a image and file backup program, such as Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost, ShadowProtect, etc.

I recommend you occasionally scan with Superantispyware free and Malwarebytes Antimalware free no matter what security programs you choose.
