Will a valid liscense key for norton antivirus 2008 work for 2009?

  3. I think as long as you upgrade from your present program. But if you buy a new one in the box it will have it's own license key with it. Now if your are trying to install a program that was from a friend or something then No it probably won't. Those product keys describe what that product is. I'm sure they know the difference between 2008 & 2009 programs.

  4. No, but it wouldn't hurt to try it out and put in the key and see if it will work. But, again, I'm sure it wouldn't work. Product keys are made for that specific program and not others. I tried it for MS Word 2007 with a 2003 key, but it didn't work. I had to ask my friend for his key. But, don't some programs update to the newer versions if you have a valid key? I had McAfee 2007, and it automatically updated to the 2008 version with an update.
