  1. Don't use norton. It will bring a ton of viruses to your computer. It will also make it extremely slow. Use AntiVir insted. It is free, it does not make your computerslow, and it finds more viruses than any other antivirus software. However once you install it go to the configuration page and configure the options to highest level. To learn win hacks visit my website. You will find the link in my profile

  2. Uninstall your Norton and try ESET Smart Security. Based on ESET NOD32 Antivirus, it protects you from viruses, worms, spyware, and all Internet threats; also blocks spam and includes personal firewall. It conserves resources and improves computer speed.

    ESET Smart Security provides:

Proactive Protection: Utilizing ThreatSense—the industry's most advanced heuristics technology, capable of proactively recognizing threats—the window of vulnerability between malware outbreak and signature update is reduced. The included antispam and firewall software provide you with a total security solution.

Precise Detection: ESET accurately identifies known and unknown threats. It consistently wins top awards from testing labs and is recognized for having zero false positives.1

Lightweight Design: Smart Security requires less memory and CPU power, allowing your computer to run fast, making more room for games, web browsing, and emailing.

Fast Scanning Speeds: ESET Smart Security is a highly efficient program ensuring fast file scanning and product updates, while running quietly in the background.

You can download it from http://www.nod32.com.sg/html/44/42/

  3. I suggest you get rid of norton because it makes your PC run slower and has a poor detection rate. You can try Avast antivirus or AVG. They are both free.

  4. What's wrong is that you have Norton. It's inferior to a lot of free Security Systems that are available from showcase sites like Cnet.com. I'm running the free version of PC Tools Antivirus on my computer and it works just fine, with a much easier to operate interface.

But the problem you're talking about is with Windows own inbuilt Security System and there's really nothing you can do about it. Whenever there are updates available for whatever security system you are running, Windows will pop up the panic inducing "You're computer is at risk" message. Just click on the "X" and update your security when you're ready.
