Norton anitivrus deleted a file

Question

Norton anitivrus deleted a file off my computer, and then none of my extensions were working and told me to fix it in folder options. So I attempted to fix it, but i changed one files extension and now everytime I try to open anything on my computer through a shortcut or anything it goes directly to MSN. How do I change my file extensions to open up properly again?
