Symantec is the maker of Norton, so choosing one is not choosing.

Anyway kaspersky is good, avast is also nice and free.

actually, both are the same under different names.... symantec owns norton... but do not go for either... use kaspersky, bit-defender or nod32

i am not a fanatic using Norton, it may slowdown your PC... Symantec is Norton... my proposal is try to use avast 4.8 home edition but if you are capable of spending money, then why dont you try avast professional... you can download avast 4.8 here www.avast.com, its free and its quite good.

Also try to install spybot search&destroy....

they are both right I use comodo pro fire wall / anti virus which are free
