Norton blocks my internet. Why?

Okay I just figured out that my internet and fire fox were not working because norton 360 was blocking them through firewall. So I disabled it and now it words. Things is I am vulnerable to hackers and such, when it is disabled. But every time I enable it, it blocks it and I cannot surf the net. Does anyone know how to make norton allow me to browse the net but still have firewall enabled?

  1. It could be on high security if you turn it to medium it may work? I had the same problem with Zonealarm.

  2. I'm not familiar with Norton 360, but I have used Norton Firewall.

Basically, you'll have to get into the Firewall, find the rules that permit or block programs, and change the ones for Firefox and Internet Explorer (?) to permit them.

    They ARE there somewhere.

    Hope that helps.

PS.  The ZoneAlarm problem mentioned by another is a known problem with a fix on ZoneAlarm's website.
