Norway’s Sebastian Wang-Hansen retains lead of RS:X fleet on Day 3 of 2011 Sail Sydney
Norwegian RS:X sailor, Sebastian Wang-Hansen, continued his dominance over the RS:X fleet even after Day 3, as he finished the day with three impressive bullets to retain his overall lead with 10 points after 10 races, which include one discard race. The
Norwegian is on top of his form and is likely to hit the RS:X title at the conclusion of 2011 Sail Sydney.
The third day of 2011 Sail Sydney was one of the challenging day for the RS:X fleet, as the cloudy atmosphere dominated the racing area before the meet started. The wind started blowing after a while to about 11 knots, which was not bad for an event.
Australia’s James Levy could not match the racing standards of the Norwegian but still with some convincing sailing display, he was able to hit the second place overall with a 24-point difference from Wang-Hansen at 34 points. The third podium position in
the respective event was captured by another Australian, Luke Baillie, who secured 35 points in 10 races.
