In spite of suffering a disappointing 3-4 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 coach has expressed optimism ahead of his side’s upcoming English Premier League game against Sam Allardyce’s men.
Norwich City head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton, has expressed optimism ahead of his side’s upcoming Premier League fixture against West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday, January 1.
The Canaries are heading into the game on the back of three defeats in a row against West Bromwich Albion, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City respectively.
And the former Newcastle United boss has insisted that his side must put behind their woeful results of the recent weeks behind to start afresh, though, he has admitted that all the last three defeats were marginal and could have gone either way at the end.
“We have gone through a difficult period, but we have also been against really difficult opposition. We have been close in every game, lost by just one goal each time, so I think there are certainly a lot of positives we have taken from these defeats”, Hughton
said while talking to reporters in the pre-match press conference.
The Irish trainer, who took the reins of the Canaries before the start of the ongoing campaign, went on to reveal that his side will try their utmost to return to winning ways when they take on Sam Allardyce’s men on January 1.
“Every match you play is an opportunity to bounce back and we will look to do that against West Ham. Now it is about getting back into good form and back to picking up points”, Hughton added.
The Hammers have been struggling to perform at their best in the recent weeks, losing three of their last five Premier League games. However, the Canaries head coach has warned his side about the potential threat, and has admitted that they will face a stern
test at the hands of the Irons, who have thus far performed impressively at home.
“It will be a tough one away from home. They are a very good side at home and we need to get back to what we have been doing best”, Hughton concluded.
West Ham United are currently sitting 12th on the Premier League table.
