Norwich Questions?

My family are coming over from Australia and long story short, they ended up booking to stay in Norwich for a week as part of their trip. Could you try and answer the following:

- What is there to do in Norwich that is worthwhile?

- How long does it take to get to London from Norwich?

- Is there anywhere worth going near Norwich up to 2 hours drive away (other than Cambridge which they will definitely see)?

Many thanks

  1. - Sightseeing - Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Castle museum, the daily market, lots of old buildings. If ethnic art is an interest, the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia. The Norfolk Broads, the north Norfolk coast....

    - 1 hour 54 minutes by train

    - lots of nice countryside in Norfolk and Suffolk, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Ely for the cathedral.

  2. Norwich is a beautiful city......Norwich Cathedral is well worth a visit and the train journey from Norwich to London is just under 2 hours......   the north norfolk coast at Holkham Beach is breathtaking ......the norfolk broads are charming .......and if you want more history, then Blickling Hall (reputedly the birthplace of Anne Boleyn 2nd wife of King Henry VIII ) is a 20 minute drive from Norwich to Aylsham..   I'm sure they will love Norwich..... and the shopping is good too with plenty of choice.....Cromer on the coast has a lovely pier with traditional seaside town and the best fish and chips.......oh and the Theatre Royal has an excellent programme events; plays/comedy/opera etc......don't worry they will not be short of entertainment and charm in this part of the world!

  3. Norwich is a beautiful ancient city ... lovely cathedral (not as big as some but very good) ... there's a big open market and lots of shopping ... for details of the trains (just over a 2 hour trip) use www.thetrainline.com or for coaches (a bit longer) use www.nationalexpress.com

within 2 hours ... how about a trip to see the seals at Blakeney point (boats from Blakeney harbour on the north Norfolk coast) ... a trip on the Norfolk broads, could go from lots of places but how about from Stalham
