Nose piercing size?????

Question

If a person gets their nose pierced with a stud, is it generally size 18g or 20g? I'm gonna order a nose s***w on-line but I don't know what size to get.

Also, do nose screws fit pretty well? Are they tough to put in?

The 2nd/1st answer, the first that isn't the weird religious hype, is correct. Usually pierced at 18g, buy a 20g just in case, it'll be easier on your nose to fit in the 20g. I had mine pierced at 18g but i use 20g studs now, just because they're easier to get hold of, i do occasionally use 18g studs however they tend to hurt a little bit to fit in. some people are against nose screws, personally i've never had any problems with them, so each to their own.

If your nose was pierced professionally with a hollow needle generally most piercer pierce with an 18G hollow needle which is slightly thicker than a 20G but not by much. If your nose was pierced with a 18G its ok to order a stud thats a 20G since it can still fit, but if your not sure, than i suggest you order a 20G instead just in case, you don't want to have to shove the stud in if its not its right size, it can be painful. If you want to be extra sure, just try to get in contact with the piercer and ask she/he what is the standard size gauge they use for nose piercings.

P.S. Yes usually nose screws are at first difficult to place in since everyone has there own technique, if you are having trouble with it, contact a piercer and ask what ways for you to do in order to get it in. Its difficult to explain the way I place mine in since it takes me a few mins.

the average nose stud is an 18.  mine are 16 because I wear rings and fancy nose studs like the Indian girls do.  Just buy nose screws that are the same size as your nose stud.  Ask the piercer what size it is.
