Noshad Alamian hoping for a place in main draws of 2011 World Championship – Table Tennis news
Iranian Noshad Alamian is hoping to move a step ahead during the GAC Group 2011 World Table Tennis Championships.
In the previous edition of the World Championships, he lost in the second preliminary round of the event.
Noshad competed against Omar Assar from Egypt in the first round of the H.I.S. World Championships. The Championship was held at Yokohama, Japan in 2009. He was eventually defeated by Ronald Redjep from Croatia in the second preliminary round of the competition.
The young player, who turned 20 this year, is in a confident state of mind. Alamian is hoping to perform better than his last appearance in the Men’s Singles round of the championship.
He won the International Table Tennis Federation Pro Tour Singles Men’s title earlier this year at the Luxembourg Open. It was the first senior title for the Iranian player.
Alamian said, “I was well prepared for the tournament; I spent time training at the Werner Schlager Academy in Vienna so I was in good shape, Also, I was confident, I felt had a chance to win.”
Noshad is no doubt an emerging face from Iran in table tennis. He wants to win major titles and is currently leading the Iranian squad at the World Table Tennis Championships. For Noshad, the person who has inspired him the most is the President of the Iran
Table Tennis Federation, Zarepour Ashkzari.
Iran was not amongst the top contenders of the world in any sport at the start of this century. However, they have succeeded in changing the scenario and now they are on the road to progress in every sport. In the Liebherr World Team Championships held at
Moscow, the boys from Iran proved to be worthy competitors.
Noshad is between an established junior player and an upcoming senior player. His performance at the ITTF Junior circuit is a proof of his playing capabilities. He won two titles at the ITTF Junior Circuit in 2008 and 2009, both at Doha.
Noshad further said, “Certainly, playing on the ITTF Junior Circuit helped me a great deal”, it gave me experience, it helped build my confidence and now I’m really determined to train hard and reach the next level.”
He will be looking forward to win the qualification rounds in the Championship. In Luxemburg earlier this year, he proved that he is a strong competitor at the senior level. Let’s see what fate has in store for him during this week.
