Not So Dumbbell Pome, Comments please.?

My family, in the 1940's clipped poems out of newspapers.

I was going through them this afternoon, Thought ya'all might

get a kick out of this one,(many more too)But I am in thought

this one maybe from the 1950's.

Bold print titled,

"Not So Dumbbell Pome" by Elaine Anne

The only reason for a war

Is if the foe invades our shore.

And if he does by any craft,

There'll be no need for any draft.

Maybe I got a kick out of it more

as I was unaware of "pome"

before I viewed it on this site.
