  1. 4*(m-3) = 19m - 6*(m-7)

    4m - 12 = 19m - 6m + 42

    4m - 12 = 13m +42

    4m - 13m = 42 + 12

    -9m = 54

    m = 54 / -9

    m = -6

    If you plug -6 in for m in the equation

    4 * (-6-3) = (19 * -6) - 6 * (-6 - 7)

    4 * -9 = -114 - (6 * -13)

    -36 = -114 + 78

    -36 = -36

    This was the process you'd take to solve it. Let me know if you need explanation if it is not obvious from how I solved it.
