Not a Pet Question but one about a Cricket?

This year for the first time I have found a few crickets in my garage. For the last two nights one has been particularly noisy. It has easy access to the outside so can someone tell me more about these little guys and why he prefers the garage and why so verbal?

Cricket tend to be quite vocal in dark spaces I have lizard and that's what i feed them I've barely heardthem in the daytime only when it's pitch black. FYI Cricket are animals too.
