Not a Yankees fan, but not really a hater either?

I dont really have that strong of opinion about the Yankees, being a Rangers fan, but...

Does anyone else think it will be really strange not seeing them in the post-season? (I'm assuming here they don't pull some Yankee-esque stunt and win like 15 in a row and make it).

They have just been there for so long...I think it will be wierd if they don't make it...

your thoughts?

  1. Like you, I don't have a particularly strong opinion about them one way or the other.  It *will* be strange if they don't make it, though. I can't help but wonder if years from now, someone will be like, "Oh remember when X won the World Series?" And I'll think, "Oh right... but they didn't have to play the Yankees in the Playoffs, so it's not the same."

  2. Too be honest, Im not complaining.  I kinda wanna see a new team in the NL East make it for the change.

Angels, White Sox, Red Sox and Rays.  Some new faces, some old.  Good mix.

  3. i love the yankees and i know the reason why they aren't going 2 the playoffs and that is joe torre they dont have joe torre as a coach.

  4. 1. a real baseball fan  ether is a yankee lover or a yankee hater

    2. the yankees arent mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs so DONT COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH

    3. your an idiot

  5. I guess it will be weird. As a Red Sox fan, the Yankees & the Red Sox had some fantastic post season battles, especially in recent years. But to be honest, I don't mind that they wont be in the playoffs. It's something to laugh at, and if the Yankees were to be in the playoffs, I'd want them to at least be a decent team, not the terrible Yankee team that is playing now.

  6. I'm indifferent about the Braves (though I don't like their lackadaisical fans), and when they missed the playoffs after 14 years or whatever, I was only mildly surprised; I didn't think it was weird at all.

But it's still too early to count them out. Plenty of teams have come back from 7 down with 27 to play.

  7. Ever since the "crack"down on roids and HGH the team has never been the same. That's what happens when multimillions of dollars are paid to players in the league.

  8. I was thinking the same thing earlier today after their loss to Toronto.  Realistically, they're not making the playoffs (even though the numbers don't say so officially), and I thought it's weird considering all the runs they had in the 2000s. Like you said, it doesn't really matter to me; I'm indifferent towards the Yankees being a Cubs fan. You can guarantee that they're going to make some big moves in the off-season to ensure they'll be back next year.

  9. Well the Rockies did that last year so it could happen. But the Red Sox would have to fail too. lol Same here. Being a fan of the NL, I'm really indifferent, but it'd be weird not having them there.
