Seems like nothing is going well for the ducks this season...players retiring then coming back to get knocked out of playoffs first round, then players getting fined for not showing attending training camps in the off-season, and now this:

Ducks co owner Henry Samueli is under investigation for backdating stock options.

Anyone believe in Karma?

  1. Duck Soup.

  2. As much as I don't like them, I do feel bad for them. I don't believe in karma though.

  3. Yep....first they were Stanley Cup Champions...now there a Roasted Duck.

    Sucks for them.

  4. Looks like the team plays as dirty as the management.

  5. I don't like them, but I do feel bad. Nothing seems to be going right.

  6. No, I don't believe in karma. It's a statistical fact that most teams don't have a good season the season after winning the SC.  The players got fined bfd. Both make millions. It didn't bother them. As for Samueli who cares? The only real mistake made was by Burke in allowing the two idiots to sit 1/2 the season, trading away Andy and allowing Bryz to get picked up by the Yotes....oh and signing Bertuzzi for 4 M is toooo much. 2M maybe...or even a better idea...keep Dustin Penner and  NOT break up the 2nd most effective line on the team. Penner Perry Getzlaf.

  7. It is Karma.

Todd Bertuzzi will never get his name on the cup...

  8. I thought there was something wrong with them.

  9. He's a billionaire... and these things usually get settled with fines. It won't effect the Ducks one bit... and as far as Karma, I'm not sure I follow.

Ownership has been terrific to the players, the fans, and the city... pretty much rescued the franchise from Disney's years of mismanagement... They drafted well, brought in a terrific GM (Burke), sign some very good free agents (Selanne, Niedermayer), sold out all their games, and brought a Stanley Cup to California.

    Karma?

I think everyones expectations for them are just so high. The past five years they've been the most winning playoff franchise, they have the most team hardware too. They'll be fine. Too much talent on the team to just dissappear.

  10. Ha! Karma is just a thing Carson Daily made up. d**n you Carson Daily!

  11. Karma's a B-OTCH!

  12. hopefully they will go out of business

  13. I doubt this is going to have any effect on the franchise.  Also, why are people saying they feel bad for them?  The Ducks are a sports team.  No team wins every year.  They had a decent year and got knocked out in the first round, the same with 7 other teams, and also had a better year than the 14 teams that didnt make the playoffs.  As for Samueli, why would you feel bad for him?  He filthy rich.  He tried s******g other people to get richer and got caught.  He took his chances and now he is facing the consequences.

As for Karma, it depends how you look at it.  Do I think there is some mysitcal energy that gives people what they have coming to them?  No.  Its more of a matter of cause and effect.  Bad things happen to people that do stupid S**t.  If I go into the ghetto to buy crack every night, is it "karma" when my car gets stolen?  No.  My car got stolen because I was an idiot and I went hanging out at crack houses where there would be a good chance my car would get stolen.

  14. they're going to try and pin him with something serious i.e. the conrad black case...but like zther said i think he'll get away with a fine if it's not too serious. they've been discussing it here a lot like it's the second coming, and like brian burke will give up his loyalty to the samueli's and come over to the leafs. meh. it's all news.

i don't think it's karma. i believe in it, but i don't think this case is a good example of it...unless the franchise goes bankrupt and they have to relocate to hamilton via a natural disaster/too much uv rays.
