Question:

Not a morning person...?

School is starting soon and it is ridiculous how early they force us to be there. Obviously, I am not a morning person so here is a question for all of you morning people out there: What are some ways that I can become more alert in the morning. Maybe something I can eat or drink? Please do not suggest energy drinks or coffee. I can't stand them.

  1. Protein will raise your blood sugar, and give you energy - without the sugar rush that will make you crash and feel even more tired later:)  So, grab a piece of cheese or hard-boiled egg in the morning, with a piece of fruit (for the natural sugar)....  take some little baggies of nuts & dried fruit to snack on during the morning


  2. First, get  up! Seriously, when I hear my alarm if I don't get up right away, I end up waking up 3 hours later.

    Get up and get in the shower. Eat some protien. Turn on some music. idk This stuff works for me.

  3. Oh, believe me, i'm not a morning person either, and i won't suggest the obvious answers like coffee or energy drinks, they are bad for your body. I recently read an article in a book about interesting facts that said that apples work better at waking you up than caffeiene does for some reason, although i can't remember the reason why this happens. Also, a shower in the morning is a great idea, that's what i do during the school year, a cold drink (can be anything) helps you become more aware. Stretching right after getting out of bed helps to get the blood flowing to all parts of your body, follow these tips and i promise you'll be better waken in the morning.

    When I wake up, I go straight to the kitchen and drink a hot cup of Guayaki Yerba Mate. Its a tea. I perfer the mint tea bags but they are all really good and instantly wake you up. Then I take a shower and eat a good breakfast. Thats what gets me up in the morning.

  5. I don't really know but believe it or not Hot Chocolate wakes me up in the morning.

  6. 1) Take your shower in the morning (if you take it at night). That always gets me awake a little bit more than before.

    2) Eat breakfast even if you aren't hungry. Eggs might be a good idea.

    3) Try placing one or two alarms away from the bed so you have to get up to turn them off.

    4) Go to bed at a specific time. A lot of people who are on an off-schedule and go to bed at 9 one night and 3 the next can mess up how alert you will be the next morning.

  8. I'm exactly the same way. Try taking a shower in the morning to wake you up and you just feel better that way. And for your alarm clock, figure out how long it takes to go off again after you push snooze and multiply it by 7. Mine is 9 minutes so I set it about 30 minutes before I have to actually get it up I can push it like 3 times. Good luck. =]
