Im just here to educate those that arent aware of the disease: Meningitis.

This disease is a potential killer to nearly 3,500 Americans per year. Out of these cases, 300 to 350 of these victims will die. Among the survivors, approximately 20% of these people with suffer the long term concequences. These include limb amputation, kidney disease, and severe to moderate brain damage. Many people dont know about this disease, or how its caused. But going to the simplest measures could prevent another contribution to the 3500 affected. There are simple ways to prevent this. Avoid sharing drinks, silverware, and smoking. Also, avoid crowded living conditions and bars. Meningitis is contagious. The disease is transmitted through air droplets and direct contact with infected persons (e.g., coughing, kissing or sharing utensils, drinking glasses, cigarettes, etc.). Adolescents and young adults conribute mostly to this 3500.Nearly 30 percent of all U.S. cases annually. However, up to 83 percent of cases among adolescents may be prevented by Vaccines, such as Menactra. Parents, please have your children vaccinated.

The symptoms are: Sudden Fever onset, headache, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, changes in mental status, and siezures.

I hope this was helpful. Thank you for reading.
