i have never had a yeast infection before my pregnancy

when I went to my doctors I told him that When I get out of the shower and towel off I get a little stream of white liquid down my leg ...

He didnt ask any more questions and gave me a prescription for a yeast infection medicine ...

My husband being so over protective read the warnings and it said that if you are pregnant it could cause birth deffects ..

I put the cream anyways (it looked like an injection) because my logic was "doctors know what they are doing"

A few weeks later I told my sister and she asked me if it itched really bad or hurt and it doesnt ...

Its not itchy at all and I dont have any other symptoms other than a stream of liquid ... she thinks its a UTI ...

I dont want to ask my doctor because I dont want him to get mad and then mess up my labor ...

but can any one help me and tell me if you have used this medication while pregnant ... i dont know the name but its a long tube with a loop at the top where you pull it out insert it and push in ... like an injection ..

Thank you

  1. I have personally used the cream, and no your doctor wouldn't give you anything that would be harmful to you or the baby, if you don't have any itching tho you may want to talk to your doctor about it a little more because 95% of the time yeast infections have a burning itching sensation, not a pretty feeling,

I hope this may  help out a little bit.

Good luck with threw the rest of the pregnancy!

  2. Canesten is safe to use while pregnant.  It's not uncommon for women to get yeast infections while pregnant.

I would get a second opinion though... it wouldn't take much for the doctor to ask you to hop up on the bed so they could have a look inside.  I never had white liquid run down my leg with a yeast infection... it's thick white stuff... kind of like cottage cheese (sorry-TMI)
