Not able to browse any site on the web

dear helper,
i have a laptop toshiba A105-S171 and i have not been able to open a single site since the last one week and where else as i am connected to the net. some of the softwares or programs like skype, rediff bol are working, mcafee is also updating but the signal of your computer may be at risk is not going out.
