I am trying to install Visual studio 2008. But the installation fails when a pop up appear which says "SUIT INTEGRATION TOOLKIT EXECUTABLE HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE". And the setup terminates there.

I have AMD processor with 512Mb ram. I have two operating systems WINDOWS ME and WINDOWS XP installed on my PC. I am trying to install Visual Studio on XP. I have also formatted the hard disk once and reinstalled the windows again but the same problem again. The Visual Studio DVD is absolutely fine and my friend has installed from it.Then what is the problem. Is it due to AMD processor or two operating systems or anything else?

  1. do you have enough hard drive space? VS is a very large application.

Having the two OS's may make your XP partition too small.

Other things: are you running other programs when installing? This may cause problems when installing some software. Is your XP up to date (at least SP2 and all updates, preferably SP3) and legal (licensed correctly)? These things have to be true for the install to go smoothly.
