This question is not about right and wrong its about being legal or not.

Is it against the law to give someone a pin number to a debit card that does not belong to them?

Can you go to jail for it?

  1. If it is your debit card, you may give the PIN to whoever you like.  Although, some merchants may not accept the card if the person doesn't have ID that matches the card.

    If the debit card is not yours, then any unauthorized use by yourself or others, is against the law.


  2. No, but it is illegal to use someones debit without permission.

  3. Unless you have legal right to possess the card and pin, then yes. You could be charged and face jail time.
