I was told by a teacher that China is not allowing people to wear a white shirt during the Olympics because by the end of the day they will have turned GREY due to the *terrible environment and pollution.

Has anyone else heard this? How does this make you feel? Can you believe it?

Personally, I do believe it and I think it's TERRIBLE. global warming is TEARRING our world apart and people/places are watching and allowing this to happen.

  1. This question is regarding pollution, not global warming.

  2. I didn't hear it before... but I believe.... because of the air pollution, and you will see the hospital in Beijing is gonna be full...

  3. It's actually true that a white shirt would turn kind of grey after wearing it for the day, but I haven't heard that China wasn't allowing people to wear it. Interesting..

  4. This is hilarious.  Algore signed the Kyoto treaty which intentionally did not include China and India because they were developing countries.  Now the socialist environmentalists are complaining left and right about the pollution in China.  Huh?  I suppose this is the Republicans' fault somehow.

  5. I just checked online and I didn't see anything about it.

You should know that they USA didn't sign in a world wide pollution treaty because we are one of the largest polluters in the world.

You should also know that the USA is not going to do anything against China because China underwrites a huge amount of our economy.

Also, don't look for too much negative things about China on Google.  Google agreed to censor what goes through their servers in exchange for being allowed into China.

  6. That is probably true, since China does produce the most smog and such. I think we shouldn't even be going to China, which is a harsh dictatorship. I think the Olympics is a very Honorable event, which is for all countries to come to gather. If China still promotes hate and evil government, then maybe we should just have the Olympics to Iraq.

  7. Look at the long-distance runners from African nations who have demurred, citing air quality. I sincerely hope that even more athletes refuse to attend, either for the bad air, or, the realy poor treatment China is showing to Tibet. America needs to revisit its policy of giving them MFN (Most Favored Nation) status in trade, considering their poor human rights record, not to mention the poisoni ng of their trade partners by poor, lead-laden products.
