Today I got my tax rebate and it was not as much as I thought it would be. There are four of us in my family. Me, my husband, and two children. We don't owe any money to the government or anything. We received 1200. I though each adult got 600 and then 300 per child. ??

  1. the amount each filing person receives is based on how much tax you owed on your yearly income, also if the child(ren) are older than 17 there is a cut off date.

  2. For individuals, payments range between $300 to $600. For joint filers, it's between $600 to $1,200. Those with children will get an additional $300 for each qualifying child.

You can use the Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator here: http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/
