Question:

Not enough soreness after running?

I find that after running i am only sore from the legs down (thighs, butt, calves) but i hardly feel anything above my torso. I have worked on my running technique but nothing seems to work or get any effect. I have a harder time losing upper body fat too. I thought running was supposed to be an exercise for the whole body?

btw i've been running for a few months now...

  1. Yes, running is an exercise for the whole body. However, it's mostly an exercise on the legs, and it's not too often that you'd feel the workout in places other than the legs. It's not as hard as a workout for your torso and such, but it is working it out. However, sometimes, with higher intensity workouts, I personally sometimes feel the workouts the next day in my ribs. That's pretty much the main place I ever feel the workout other than in my legs. You'd have to do some other workouts such as sit-ups, planks, leg lifts, push-ups, and all of that stuff to work out other parts of your body better.

  2. not being sore is a good thing, i don't understand why you would want to be sore after running because being sore doesn't mean that you have worked hard it means that your body cannot handle the work it is doing.

  3. Running doesn't usually make your upper torso hurt. If you're not losing weight keep at it, but also evaluate your diet- you usually have to do both to lose weight.

  4. not always do u have to be sore....

try eating healthy if ur on a diet and if you want to eat less, drink a bunch of water before u eat. itll fill u up and youll eat less. besides, water is good for you

    hope this helps...

  5. Water and potassium are very important when doing anything with running. It is very important to eat healthy and stay hydrated.

The reason your not losing weight, may be you are running hard enough, your diet is bad, or what you drink. Drinking anything other than water, is just empty calories.

EX. Powerade, pop, vitamin water, certain jucies, etc.

THE BEST THING FOR YOU IS WATER!!!!!!!!

Dehydration can make you muscles sore!!!!
