Question:

Not getting all the chanels on my cable box ?

In my home all the cable boxs are getting all the channels. Except from one . It's only getting some of the channels . Other channels I cant get,it remains in a black screen. The cable box is a Scientific Atlanta. The company Im with is Optinum (cablevision , iO TV) what should I do to get all of the channels on the cable box ?

Unplug the box for 30 seconds to 2 minutes.  Let the box boot up completely and reload the clock display.  Then turn it on.  Wait for any screen loading screen to disappear and the initial channel to be displayed.  Check it out and see if you can get all the channels.  If the channels do not appear call your cable company.  If the box came from them and it has the same capability this should work.  If somehow this is a legacy box -- read that as not up to the current box standard -- then it might not get all the channels.  But if this is the same box they currently use it should get all the channels if it is properly authorized.  Powering it down allows the box to reload its authorization to the channels.  This sort of failure happens when a momentary power interruption happens.  You would think it does this to all the boxes in your home but that is not necessarily the case (as you can see if this works).
