Not giving Awana a fourth straight over was a mistake, admits http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 – Cricket News Update
The stand-in captain of Kings XI Punjab, David Hussey, conceded on Tuesday that not giving a fourth straight over to fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parvinder-Awana-c80792 against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday, was a mistake on his part.
After the Punjab line up set a below par total of 136 for 8 in their stipulated 20 overs, pace bowler Parvinder Awana came up with an incisive bowling display scything through Delhi’s star-studded claiming three wickets in his first three overs. Awana’s
wickets included prized scalps of swashbuckling Sehwag and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849 as well.

Lavishing praise on the rookie pacer, Hussey said that it was Awana’s first spell that kept them into the game despite setting a below par total on the board. The Australian reckoned Jayawardene would have fallen early as well, had he given Awana his fourth
straight over .
"The spell by Awana was world-class today. He got three batsmen out quickly which very much changed the complexion of the game,” said Hussey at the post-match press conference after facing a five-wicket loss at the hands of table-toppers.
"The mistake we did was not giving him the fourth over straight to get Mahela [Jayawardene] out. That was a mistake by me there. Awana keeps competing with the opposition. Hopefully, he has a big future not just with the Indian cricket team but also with
the Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 as well," he added further.
Prior to last night’s match against Daredevils, the Punjab based Kings XI played Deccan Chargers at home on Sunday and will now head straight to their second home ground, Dharamsala, to host defending champions Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, May 19, before
playing the Delhi outfit at the same venue.
Asked if the hectic schedule could be a reason behind his side’s not up to the mark performance, Hussey said, "It gets tiring but this can't be an excuse for the defeat," he said.
