  1. Why?

Is it such a hardship to preform a civic duty?

I pray that should you ever be put in a position where you need a conviction of someone who has wronged you, that you have enough people to give you justice.

  2. bench warrant, jail, embarrassment

  3. Contempt of court is the crime charge for someone who does not respond to a jury duty.

  4. bench warrent, possible contempt of court.

A notice to serve on Jury Duty is a court summons.  It is required by law that you report as ordered by the court.  Reporting does not mean that you will serve, but you could be served with a warrent, fined and depending on the judge, you could spend time in jail.

At least that is how it is where I am

  5. It says on the form what the consequences are.

It depends on where you live but can be: "warrants, fines and jail time"

  6. Just show up; wink & smile at the defendant-- you'll be home for lunch.
