Question:

Not happy with new firefox?

I recently installed the newest version of firefox and I am not happy at all. I would like to 1) get rid of the star in the address bar, 2) not have my bookmarks in the drop down menu of my address bar and 3) I would like to be able to click on my drop down menu and easily see other sites I have typed into the address bar. Currently, the only way I can have a commonly used site appear in my drop down menu is if I have it bookmarked. Isn't that why I have the handy dandy "Bookmarks" button? Any help on how to reconfigure these changes will be appreciated!

  1. There are all kinds of changes you can make to Firefox toconfigure it to your likes and dislikes.

Here is how to do #2 above:  http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+...

  2. Perhaps by customizing your browser you may be better pleased with Firefox. There are many plugins go to TOOLS then select ADD-ONS. Some of these plugins may have been installed.

  3. Have you tried changing your settings under Tools/Options? If cannot change there - you can always save your bookmarks (export and save to your desktop) uninstall the new firefox, and then redownload/install Firefox 2.0.0.16 which is what I have, and everything is still where its supposed to be. I thought about d/l the new 3.1 version but after reading your issues, I dont think I will.
