Question:

Not in the AP Class, but I got a 3 on the APUSH, what will the colleges think?

I would love to go to A&M or University of Texas @ Austin, but on their site they state they require a 4 on the APUSH test for credit. Is my score completely worthless? I wasn't in the class either, does that affect anything?

  1. UT and A&M love the fact you're challenging yourself and you passed so that's a plus. You won't get credit unless you decide to retake it again and try for a 4 (I wouldn't--unless you want to major in History). It's not completely worthless-it's a good boost for acceptance and their opinion of you.

  2. Taking an ap class or test can only increase your chances of getting into the college so the 3 is not worthless its still a good score. However, if you were planning on getting credit (as in not having to take the introduction of the course in college and pay for it than it won't work) but that is only if you were planning on taking the course.

Summary: no its not worthless it looks good on transcripts but it wont let you bypass the course if you are planning on taking it
