I'm planning on staying in budget hotels or hostels and I don't need to eat anything fancy. I'll mainly be going to museums, art galleries, ect... and just walking around taking pictures and soaking up as much of France as I can in 2 weeks.

  1. Well, if you stay at an inexpensive hotel like the Hotel Tiquetonne (30 euros/night for a single) your hotel costs would be 390 euros for 13 nights.

Have a typical French breakfast of coffee and bread with jam at a local cafe for 7-8 euros. Eat your big meal of day at an inexpensive restaurant like those on the rue Mouffetard for 12-15 euros and have a sandwich and a coke for dinner from a street stand for 9-10 euros. Figure a total of 30-40 euros for food. or roughly 400-450 euros for 2 weeks.

Museum and other admission fees of 10 euros a day or 140 or so euros for the entire trip.

Then assume taking a bus or the metro twice a day plus the RER train to and from the airport for a total of about 50 euros.

Nightlife can consist of a glass of wine at a convivial bar. Figure maybe 150 euros total.

I'll let you do the addition. That's pretty rock bottom of course and I would suggest you tack on at least another 200-300 euros to cover contigencies and maybe to make life just a little easier.

I'm not at all extravagent (in fact most of my friends call me a tight fisted skinflint) and I spend about 100-150 euros per day exclusive of my hotel or apartment rental.
