Not intimidated by others in basketball?

I'm a pretty good basketball player and sometimes, some black people (not trying to be racist at all) that are more athletic or more outgoing try to intimidate others and always demand the ball. I can be better than someone but he'll be more "outgoing" than me and try to dominate the ball and i dont want to start anything so usually ill just give in to that.

I'm not scared of them but i dont want to start anything. What do you do in those situations?

  1. If you're open and you get the ball, take the shot. Let your game speak for you. You make the right move by not attempting to get verbal in these types of situations. If you score efficiently, nobody on your team can complain. Then you will be recognized as somebody with game. However, everybody has their off days, and that's when you show your teammates that you're a playmaker, or a ballhandler, or whatever it is that your team is missing. Try to focus on being the missing link between your teammates and success. This way, you will become a better all-around talent and improve your teamwork skills. All the best.

  2. well... first of all dont be scared of any one on the court

    remember were all human

  3. just play your game.i have a ball hog on my team and he always demands the ball too.All I do is make a nice dish to him.layup.

always try to improve your own skills (like dribbling and rebounding) so you will be a better all-around player when you become older.he will still be a Lebron "Gimmie the ball and let me score",which might result in less playing time for him.

If you perfect your game, you will be the one getting more playing time later on.

aka.Just be patient and work on your game.

  4. Show no emotion, Play hard every second on the court, not just when your mad at this guy. Now wait for the perfect time to set screens that stick, roll out hard, and score easily. No need for celebration or jawing.

Just play good straight up D" forcing off balance shots.

No need to try to be confrontational, if your just working your (*) off they will usually give you a little more respect.

  5. Before games don't mess around and shoot what you can so they see you can shoot and pass to you, and when you get rebounds, always go for lay-ups, they can't say anything.

  6. s***w what color they are and play your game.

  7. Say: "After I'm done, I'll give you my ball, because you are too lazy to get your own."  JK. Just ask him to get his own ball.

  8. if you really are better than them, you would earn respect through your skill and they respect you with the ball in your hands and let you do your thing. To earn that you gotta train hard, until you reach that point give them the ball if you must and they will realize they are missing shots and will not want the ball as much and they will get tired.
