  1. if ya have to ask you ll never know

  2. Firstly there are several groups called I.R.A. Check CAIN website at the University of Ulster to find out about them.

Some groups are still active. The Real I.R.A. shot up a policeman's house in Derry this week. There's also the Continuity I.R.A. and the Irish National Liberation Army, all still active.

There have always been non-Irish people, particularly English, in the I.R.A. The Chief of Staff of the IRA in the 70's was an Englshman.

  3. Not now seeing as how they're officially disbanded because of the peace process and devolved government at Stormont.

  4. why would you bother

The vast majority of irish people never joined when it was active.

They are not activly recruiting as they have disbanded to some extent.

The official line is that they have ceased all paramilitary operations. The drug running is another story.

The last brittish soilder killed by the IRA was apparantly by a croatian sniper member using a barret light 50 (serious stuff and expensive piece of kit)

The americans were involved in an organisation called NORAID which was a fundraising organisation in america, however most americans did not know that their money would be used to kill innocent people as well as their countries strongest allies soilders.

The IRA (1922) onwards are scum.  I still havent forgave them for killing Michael Collins.

  5. no but you can join the westies they are better

  6. it would depend whether you're english or not

  7. The IRA have ceased all operations... It's over.

    Grow up.

  8. Yes, during there high many Americans were involved with the IRA. fortunately the IRA has disbanded, although the criminal side probably hasn't.

  9. The IRA is a terrorist organisation, with the aim of subverting the existing legal goverments of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, based primarily on grievances stemming from the end of the Irish war of Indepence, and building on the actions of the legitimate Irish and British goverments since then.

They are criminals who do not generally blanch at committing crimes from intimidation and theft, up to kidnapping, murder and acts of terrorism. They do not have a specific list of qualifications for an individual to become a part of their organisation, you just have to be murderous, unconscientious and without a sense of social responsibility.

So if you're criminal and a downright lowlife, give 'em a call.
