Not many grass tournaments?

Why aren't there that many grass tournaments? With Wimbledon being such a big deal one would think that there would be more grass tournaments in the run up to Wimbledon. In fact there aren't even any Master's series tournaments played on grass...

  1. Thats because grass courts are very hard to maintain and hence we only have 4 weeks of grass court tennis

  2. This is true. My opinion is that this is noticeable even more now because the tennis tour year has grown and grown too long than how it was in the past.  Besides this, it is a shame that the grass court season, or grass court tournaments, is lacking and too short in length.  It's ironic because grass court tennis is closer to what tennis really is.

  3. Absolutely true. Well, grass is very expensive to handle. It costs a lot of money, and that's why there aren't many tournaments or around the area where you and I live. You have to mow them, water them, and sun-bathe them. I takes a lot of work and costs a lot. That is why the season is so short and there are only several grass court tournaments. I think they should have more tournaments on grass.
