  1. It would be bad.  Even if your insurance company is not notified that you now have a drivers license, when they find out (and they WILL find out) your parents insurance will go up anyway.  The insurance company is obligated to provide coverge to anyone in a  household who has a valid drivers license, whether they are "listed" or not.  They also have a right to raise your parents insurance to reflect that added risk.   If your insurance is not notified,  the rates will go from the day you got your license and then your parents policy will almost certainly be cancelled.

BTW, C'Estmoi is wrong.  You would be covered in the event of an accident but then the policy will be cancelled and it would be very difficult and very, very expensive for your parents to find a new insurer

  2. BAD unless you can afford to buy your own VERY bad

  3. If you have your license, the insurance company can find out you live with them.  Anyone in the house with a license probably has to be listed on the insurance, even if you are not listed as the primary driver on any of the cars.  If you aren't covered, you will get a ticket if you are stopped for any traffic violation.  Their insurance will go up way high after that.

Take the on-line driver's safety program for a discount on insurance.  Everybody in the family can take it and get more discount.

  4. Very bad!

If you got in an accident, you would not be covered.  This means, the car would not get fixed, you wouldn't be able to pay for the other person's car to get fixed, or any other property damage.  If you were liable, then the injured party could sue your parents, and even take their home or other assets away from them.  It's very serious.

Not to mention ilegal.  You can get an expensive ticket for driving without insurance, or even arrested in some states,
