Not reading cds. i have just received a brand new head unit from (nitro) a sister co. of alpine.

Question

i have just received a brand new head unit from (nitro) a sister co. of alpine. my issue is that al other functions except the cd drive works. when i insert a cd the receiver says loading but aborts the disc and says error 6. then goes back to the am/fm mode. what does error 6 mean and has anyone heard of such an issue. the products were just shiped out from NY to OR. on fed-ex ground i am hoping the laser isnt damaged from the shipping process. what do yall think.
