Ok heres the deal Im at a CC right now. I do have 2 F's one in Soc 101 and one in a Psy class. Basically I had to take the F's becuz my husband lost his job so we couldnt afford our apt and really had no where else to stay so we moved out of state for a few months. I already have all my Soc science credits so I dont need the Psy or Soc 101 to get my degree. But my school says if i retake them the better grade will replace the F but of course the F's will still sit on my transcript. What should I do? I really dont wanna take them because they wont go towards anything- I have already taken all the electives I need to. The classes I need to take now is College algebra and 2 humanities courses. So what should I do would a university accept me even tho I have these bad marks or ????? thanks...

  1. Ask your CC about "academic renewal".  It is a process by which, if enough time has elapsed and certain other criteria are met, the class can be expunged from your record.  It'll show up on your transcript, but won't affect your GPA or your unit number.

  2. Would online courses be an answer to your dilemma?

  3. The F's would bring your GPA down, but just contact a University and ask them.  xox

  4. If your grades are otherwise stellar, I would simply move on.  If the college to which you apply questions the F's you be matter of fact about being strapped for money and having to move, but that you are stable now.  No more than that.

Good luck.  Study hard this year.
