  1. when was the last time the sound was working ,if it was soon, then try system restore

    start>all programmes>accessotties>system tools>system restore

and choose a day or an action as installing something that happeded before losing the sound accident

    it may work,if not,then

i don't think there is a place to help u more than the

  2. If you have a brand name PC and your sound card came with that machine the free drivers you only find it in their site by getting the name, model#, for example:Presario 5000USR(compaq).

All integrated hardware their drivers are (compaq, dell,hp,vaio, etc or the brand of motherboard brand and model).

PCI sound cards you get it off the case and read their tags, conmom names are Soundblaster,Creative,ESSxxx, and other clue if you remember what kind of software they was using.

And if you want to upgrade for only $30.00 you can get a creative audigy, anywhere including Wallmart, they are good and they software it is excelence.

  3. Sometimes it won't ask for a disk and if it does, I generally pick the C: drive.  You can also do a roll back in the Start button's Help and Support or download new drivers off the manufactures web site.

  4. "Reboot", or "restart", means to turn off your computer, then turn it back on. There's no need for a disc.

If you don't even know what "reboot" means, perhaps you should get yourself a computer-beginner's book. It will help you understand computer terms, and learn how to troubleshoot common problems. I think it'll help you immensely.

You really can't "delete sound", and rebooting won't help you. I think you just muted your sound. The little speaker icon in the bottom right corner controls your volume. Click on it with your left mouse button, and a small window will appear. Uncheck the mute box if it's checked, and use the slider to set the appropriate volume.

And do look into a book for beginners. It'll help you with stuff like that.

    :)

  5. You cannot really delete the sound from your PC. All you have done is deleted the status icon in your taskbar.

Go into the Control Panel, click on "Sounds and Audio Device Properties" and recheck the "Place volume icon in taskbar" box. then click OK

If that doesn't work, bring up "Start --> My Computer". Right click My Computer and open Properties. Select the Hardware tab. Click on Device Manager. Double click the "Sound, Video and game controllers" option. Double click on each audio option underneath (I can't tell you which one because it depends on your audio driver). See if you can find a "Device Usage" option in any of them and click "Use this device (enable)" option. Then reboot your PC

The audio option should come back. Good luck!

  6. what you probably did is to delete the sound driver. in that case, you either download the specific sound board drivers from the internet either you find the drivers cd that came with your computer and instal it. but first, you must know what sound board you have.
