Not starting up Compaq V2000

Question

My COmpaq V2000 recently froze on me, I restarted it manually because it was the only possible way and when I tried to turn it back on I got two beeps and a screen saying press F1 to resume or F10(or 12) to setup. I tried to press these buttons (and others) but nothing happened. A few people told me it may be the hard drive?? any solutions??
